How amazing are Panini sandwiches? Such a simple dish, yet so delicious! With their trademark grill marks, Panini sandwiches just make our mouths water. You can have it with almost anything, salad, soup, or a cup of coffee in the morning day. Here are the basics for you to make the perfect panini at home. This veggie version is absolutely mouth-watering but you can add ham, salami, turkey or any cold cut you like. This is just a simple guide, feel free to add or change ingredients to fit your mood of the day!

Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise, 2 tbsp
  • Olive oil, as needed
  • Cheddar cheese, 2 slices
  • Italian bread, 2 slices
  • Tomato, 2 slices (firm/ripe)
  • Onion, 1 thin slice
  • Cooking spray

Directions

1: Let your Panini grill heat up for a few minutes and add some cooking spray.

2: In the meantime, drizzle some olive oil on one side of each bread slice and spread mayonnaise on the other side of each slice. Pile cheese, tomato and onion on the mayonnaise side of one of the slices. Top with the other bread slice, mayonnaise side down.

3: Place the sandwich in the panini grill and press the upper part down and grill until cheese is melted and grill marks show up, about 5 minutes.
